Jimmy Mathews – New England Yacht Broker

Yacht broker, Jimmy Mathews grew up in Boston, Massachusetts where he spent his summers on the waters of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. With never a thought of getting into the yachting industry, Jimmy moved to the lake full time in 2000 after earning his Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Salem State College in Salem, Massachusetts. Soon after his move he obtained a new boat sales job at a local marina inn the area selling Wellcraft, Boston Whaler, and Monterey Boats, among other smaller cruisers.

In a short 6-month span Jimmy sold 50 boats and instantly fell in love with the water, and of course, selling boats. As time passed he made one of his childhood dreams come true and moved to South Florida, where he became a Licensed Yacht Broker. It didn’t take a long time for Jimmy to acclimate himself, as he recorded his first sale, on his first week on the job. Working the docks at the 2003 Miami Boat Show, Jimmy closed on a 1997 70′ Motoryacht.

It’s been 8 years since moving to South Florida and Jimmy has continued to build a reputation as a low pressure salesperson who follows through on every step of the brokerage process, representing Yacht Buyers, Sellers, or both parties in a deal. Jimmy adds, “I simply listen to what people want and deliver to exactly what they want.”

Jimmy has recently returned to Boston for the Summers Boating Season and has continued to work not only the South Florida Yacht Market, but has begun an aggressive marketing campaign for the Northeast market as well in New England.
