Roger Madigan – Denison Mexico

From the very beginning, Roger was involved in the construction, sales and promotion of fiberglass yachts. Throughout his childhood, Roger was competing in club and national yacht racing events in the United Kingdom and was also involved in national and international yacht deliveries. At the age of 19, Roger started racing in the elite international yachting competitions, at first it was mostly weekend races but it soon developed into a full time professional career.

Roger has competed in three different national teams (allowed foreign quota) and crewed on yachts that have won major international races and regattas. Roger was in charge of the construction of two yachts for the Italian team and it was whilst racing for that team in the Sardinia Cup in 1978, he was offered the opportunity to deliver a large megayacht from Kuwait to Italy. At the age of 25 years old, and after the delivery, Roger was given the permanent Captains position. Since that time, Roger has been the Captain of 9 large superyachts spanning over 30 years, and is considered one of a limited number of Captains that have considerable experience with both sail and power superyachts.

Roger has worked exclusively for prominent private owners throughout his career – his final position was for 12 years as the Captain and Fleet Manager for the richest person in the world, based in Mexico. At that time, Roger cruised extensively between San Diego, California and Panama but spent most summers in the Sea of Cortez. Roger is recognized as one of the more knowledgeable and experienced Captains on the Pacific Coast of North America.
