Connecticut Boatyard Set To Open In May 2012

A new boatyard serving the Stamford Connecticut Harbor is set to be in operation by mid-May, subject to city approval. The facility will be known as Skipper Gardella’s at Harbor Point.

This new boatyard is designed to serve as an interim facility at Harbor Point, replacing the services lost when the former Brewer’s Yacht Haven was required to close.

Skip Gardella will operate the interim boatyard at Harbor Point. With more than 75 years of experience in serving the area’s boating community, the Gardella family also runs the nearby Norwalk Cove Marina and its sister site, Rex Marine Center.

“We are not strangers to Stamford,” Gardella said in a statement. “A large percentage of our current customer base is from Stamford. The new Harbor Point location will allow us to serve them more conveniently.”
