Denison Sells New Build Cantiere delle Marche Superyacht

Cantiere delle Marche have announced that they’ve signed a contract to build another 29.5m Darwin Class explorer motor for a South American client introduced by Alex G. Clarke at Denison Yacht Sales.

Denison Yacht Sales Yacht Broker Alex G. Clarke sells Darwin 96

Designed by Sergio Cutolo, she is a near-sistership of Stella di Mare, launched in March 2013 but differs in several details, in that she will have larger windows in the main and upper deck saloons, a sleeker bow and, instead of MTU engines, will have twin Caterpillar 680hp units giving her a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 10 knots. Cantiere delle Marche currently has six yachts under construction for delivery in 2014 and 2015.

Vasco Buonpensiere, Sales and Marketing Director of CdM, says:

‘It is incredible how, once again, the decision and sale process has been fast, smooth and enjoyable on both sides’. He explains: ‘In only twelve weeks from the first meeting with the client in Fort Lauderdale we have completed this deal, customising the technical specifications matching the client’s needs, negotiating the contract giving the client all the comfort and securities needed, and drawing a preliminary General Arrangement following a very precise initial brief’

Alex G. Clarke, Director of Denison Super Yacht Division, said the following about the process:

‘My client and I first met with the Sales Director of Cantiere delle Marche, Vasco Buonpensiere, during the 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Since then the past 3 months have been extremely exciting as we all worked together with Naval Architect Sergio Cutolo of HydroTec to modify & in my opinion improve many of the cosmetic & structural appearance of the vessel to assure the finished product is exactly what our client had envisioned. Vasco & the entire shipyard team have been absolutely amazing to work with making this one of the smoothest closings I have ever been apart of in my entire career. The fact that the client is an experienced yachtsman having owned multiple yachts over his lifetime so his knowledge proved a key factor in putting together this deal in a record 12 weeks time. For the next 16 months we will continue to work together as a team with delivery scheduled for August 2015.

What I am still amazed at is the high level of quality being produced by Cantiere delle Marche. Combine that with their attention to detail, customer service, superior craftsmanship, and Italian styling – I feel CdM without a doubt in my mind has solidified themselves as the premier builder of Explorer Style Yachts in the world for this size range.

The Denison Super Yacht Division is only getting stronger and this project is just the beginning of what the industry can grow to expect from a young, vibrant, hungry company that will only improve with age.

And on a personal note – this project is particularly special to me as it gives me the opportunity to build a world class vessel with long time friend & CEO of CdM Ennio Cecchini and naval architect Sergio Cutolo who is like an Uncle to me both of whom I first started working with when I represented Cantiere Navale di Pesaro (CNP) in North America selling the Naumachos line of yachts. This sale did not happen by accident. It is the result of years of hard work that has all come together thanks to a great client.’

The new 29.5m Darwin Class explorer yacht is due for delivery in 2015.
