Seattle Boat Show to Close Early for Super Bowl

Seattle Boat Show organizers said they have decided to end the event a day earlier than originally scheduled so exhibitors, event staff and show-goers can watch the Super Bowl, which features the Seattle Seahawks, with their friends and families.

The show opens at 11 a.m. Friday and will now close at 8 p.m. on Feb. 1. The event is being held at CenturyLink Field and South Lake Union.

The Seahawks will play the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl on Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

By special arrangement with CenturyLink Field, the show is allowing access to the field so those who attend can celebrate the Seahawks’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. The field will be open from noon until 2 p.m. (except on Jan. 29 and 30). Show-goers will be able to walk the turf, take pictures in front of the goal posts and show their team pride. Tickets to the show are $12.

“There aren’t many opportunities for the public to walk out onto the field,” Northwest Marine Trade Association president George Harris said. “It’s going to be a pretty exciting and fun experience for a lot of people, and we’re thrilled that we are able to offer this opportunity to our guests in the lead-up to the Super Bowl. Go Hawks!”
