Denison Hosts Cornhole Tournament at Montauk Yacht Club

Denison Yacht Sales recently held the First Annual Cornhole Open at the Montauk Yacht Club in New York. Joe Laundrie and Sean Wilkes organized the event in an effort to bring the community together one last time before the end of the summer. With a $500 dollar cash prize up for grabs, the Montauk crew accomplished exactly that.

More than 40 teams were represented and scores more were in attendance while enjoying complimentary beverages. The competitors themselves were spread across a wide spectrum of ages. Young kids, college buddies, romantic couples and even grandparents were all letting the bean bags fly to try to be the last ones standing. “Denison was family founded and we do our best to inject that in everything we do”, remarked Sean Wilkes.

In the end, Nicholas and Anna from Long Island withstood six rounds and some stiff competition to walk away as tournament champions. In fact, Nicholas will be spending the prize money on a new pair of shoes for Anna which is, most certainly, the quickest way to a woman’s heart. After all was said and done, the event was full of fun and laughter which was the whole purpose from the onset. Joe Laundrie added, “I couldn’t believe that we had more than a hundred people in attendance laughing and enjoying the final weekend of the summer with us. More fun family tournaments to come in the summer of 2015 at the Montauk Yacht Club”.
