October 20, 2015 9:01 am

Otam will debut its 55 HT and 45 Open at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in November in the Italian builder’s effort to penetrate the North American boating market.

The inaugural presence of the yard in the United States was made possible by the company’s collaboration with Denison Yacht Sales and the efforts of an Otam owner, Alain Zenatti, a brand ambassador who made his vessel available.

“I am delighted to have been selected as brand ambassador of Otam for the U.S. Attending FLIBS together will give me a chance to share, as an Otam owner, my passion for my boat,” Zenatti said in a statement. “Otam represents elegance, speed and high performance, a perfect combination for South Florida, from where Bahamas, the Florida Keys, Cuba and all the Caribbean islands can easily be reached.”

Listing agent for the OTAMs and Denison Yacht Sales broker Conrad Vanderlely said: “We are very happy and excited to introduce the Otam line of express yachts to the North American market. We now have three Otam’s in North America and all are owned by very pleased clients. The quality, fit and finish is the best in its class. Anyone interested in the Pershing, Riva, Sunseeker express yacht market should strongly consider the Otam product. It will not disappoint.”

The Otam 55 is powered by twin Arneson Drives. Two Caterpillar C32 motors deliver 1,724 hp apiece and the top speed is more than 55 knots. The design, 61 feet long with a beam of 15 feet, is from 2008-09 and was created as a support boat for superyachts.

The 45 Open is another offering from the Genoese yard that will be showcased at Fort Lauderdale. Otam will show the American market a boat created by the owner of the yard in 1998 and completely renewed this year.

The Otam Millennium 45 offers a spacious cockpit with an open-air solarium and salon. Belowdecks the salon can be altered according to the wishes of the owner. Two 715-hp Caterpillar motors allow a top speed of 45 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots.
