The first 4 races of the America’s Cup between America and New Zealand for the finals took place last weekend, and Denison Superyacht Broker Glynn Smith was on hand for two days of spectacular racing.

Smith spent one day anchored on the start line onboard the CNB 76 SAPPHIRE III, where he had an excellent vantage point and a real perspective of how fast these yachts sail. “There is zero room for making mistakes and dropping off the foils as the distances can decrease or increase in a blink of an eye,” he observed.

He spent the second day exploring the America’s Cup village. “The atmosphere was electric and the comraderie among the fans was amazing. There wasn’t a dull moment throughout the weekend, and it was truly a tick on the bucket list.”

Lionheart, one of six J-Class yachts competing in the America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta, also sailed to victory over an impressive fleet of sailing yachts over 24 meters.

The last stretch of the finals starts Saturday, and Denison charter broker Jackie Guenther will be on hand to witness the excitement. New Zealand could sweep the whole series by Sunday, or it could stretch out as far as Tuesday, three days later.

In San Francisco, the U.S. came back from a 7 point deficit to win. Can USA make a comeback again?
