Delta Marine has received a new order for a 66m megayacht which will be built as Hull # 211042. The new 66m superyacht will be built with a composite superstructure and a steel hull that has been strengthened for cruising in difficult or icy waters. The megayacht is designed by Delta Design Group with interior design by Diane Johnson Design.
The elegant yacht will span 4 decks and will feature a traditional design with large windows on the superstructure allowing plenty of natural light to penetrate the interior as well as large rectangular windows in the forward hull on the main deck where the owner’s suite is typically located.
The whole yacht has been designed with long distance cruising in mind. The designers aimed to give the stern deck a relaxed, beach-like feel with a fold down cabana at the stern bay bar. The space will also feature a day head and a sauna. The yacht features an extra large sundeck with a pool and a private owner’s deck off the master’s stateroom.
With interior design by Diane Johnson Design, the space will largely be characterized by generous, full height windows and by grand foyers and reception spaces. This sense of grandeur will continue throughout the yacht with raised panelling, beamed overheads, fluted columns and polished veneers.
Her interior is expected to be beautifully fitted with grand foyers and stairwells and there will be special additions such as a gymnasium and a theater along with the usual communal spaces found on megayachts of this size including a main salon, dining room, sky lounge, aft deck dining, and a massive flybridge.
She will represent the second largest superyacht built by Delta Marine after the 73-meter megayacht Laurel launched in 2006.
She will be powered by Twin Caterpillar 3516 main engines and will carry over 50,000 gallons of fuel. She will have a 5,000 nautical mile range at 12 knots and a maximum speed of 16.8 knots.
The yacht is scheduled for delivery in 2013 and will be built to Lloyd’s register and LY2.
