Ferretti Group Launches New Riva 63′ Open Yacht, Virtus

The Ferretti Group recently announced the launching of the 63′ Riva Virtus. The yacht is the largest open yacht Riva has ever built. The new yacht series is a team effort that puts Italiana Design and Advanced Yacht Technology in collaboration with the naval architects and yacht designers at Centrol Stile Ferretti Group.

While the styling of the Riva Virtus is reminiscent of the classic Riva Yachts, 63′ Vertigo and the Rivale, the Mediterranean-styled vessel features even larger open areas than its predecessors. There are two large sundecks that provide plenty of space for entertaining and lounging. The cockpit is massive, boasting 3 sofas, a refrigerator, a sink, and a concealed grill.

It also is covered with a large, hydraulically operated covering, which can remain open while cruising. Her helm is protected by a large wraparound windshield, which optimizes performance of the Virtus.

Her interior layout is a masterpiece of finish and maximizing spaces. Her salon is big enough to seat 6 guests at a large wooden table designed specifically for this Riva. Her accommodations feature a Master Stateroom and a Guest Cabin, both located forward. Oversized, arrow-shaped side windows enhance the symmetry of her lines and allow terrific views.

Her ease of handling is a result of hull design’s built-in tunnel propulsion. She is powered by twin MAN 12V engines (1,360hp), which produce 1,000 kW at 2,300 rpm/minute, while delivering a top speed at 40 knots. She cruises very comfortably at 35 knots.
