Broker Ken Denison Talks ‘American Made’ Yachts

March 16, 2018 7:38 am

Seasoned yacht broker Ken Denison has been around the industry of American-made yachts for some time, so much so that Superyacht Times felt he’d be a welcomed voice in a conversation about the history of U.S.-bred craftsmanship.

“Few people are better qualified to comment on the American new build sector than Ken Denison, whose parents founded Broward Marine,” mused writer Ellie Brade in her piece for the latest SuperYacht Times issue on stands.

It’s this sort of pedigree that has given Ken a front seat to the evolution of the American-build market over the years, some of which he explained this way during his chat with Superyacht Times: “It’s not uncommon for most European yards to subcontract a large percentage of their work out and keep their payroll small, which is a smart thing, but in America, the opposite was true with most yards doing almost everything in-house.”
