David Chateau

Born and raised in France, David discovered his love for sailing at the age of 10 along the Atlantic Coast. Fueled by a passion for travel and the sea, he has lived in multiple countries and built a successful career as a yacht broker in the South of France, specializing in bluewater cruisers—both sail and power. During this time, he lived aboard a sailboat and launched his own charter company, Chill Out Sailing.

After completing numerous sea trials and crossing the Atlantic on a catamaran, David relocated to California in 2016 and continued his brokerage career in Marina del Rey. He soon earned his captain’s license, expanding into yacht deliveries and private charters.

With thousands of nautical miles under his belt, David holds dual citizenship and a Master 200-ton license. He frequently captains yachts along the West Coast between Ensenada and San Francisco. Now based in Long Beach, he’s a proud father who enjoys camping in the mountains, surfing, and exploring the outdoors in his free time.
