Corsica & Sardina

Corsica and Sardinia are two different European cultures side by side in a breathtaking, natural setting providing a unique yacht charter experience.  They offer an enticing combination of unspoiled beauty and sophisticated resort retreats.

Sample Itinerary:
Day 1: Embark from Ajaccio, Corsica the renowned birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte. This town is set on a sunny bay surrounded by citrus groves, olive trees, and vineyards.  Ajaccio bursts with history and cultural diversity. The main center of the town of interest to visitors is the 16th century citadel, and the region just to the west and north of the citadel. This region includes the Place Bonaparte and the renaissance cathedral, and continues up to Place Foch which is a beautiful oblong square shaded by palm trees and surrounded by small restaurants.

Day 2: This morning cruise down the west coast of Corsica and anchor at the Gulf of Valinco. The Gulf of Valinco is perhaps one the most beautiful gulfs on the west coast of the island. To the north of the bay is Cappiciolo – with picturesque coves of golden sand fringed by rocks, and Porto Pollo, a sheltered little port. Corsica’s origins can be traced to this small region with its large number of pre-historic sites and castle remains that date back to the time of the lords.

Day 3: Continue to Bonifaccio, Corsica’s star attraction.  Entering Bonifacio’s almost land-locked harbor is one of the most dramatic moments in sailing, as it opens magically before you revealing a totally protected harbor Marvel at the medieval houses precariously teetering on the edge of the imposing limestone cliffs.  Bonifacio’s Old Town, with a labyrinth of narrow streets and historic buildings, was built by the Genoese and is a fascinating place to wander around.  In the afternoon head to Santa Maria for a swim. Ancient olive trees color the piazza while hill slopes, rising from the sea, greet the Spanish Tower that guards the bay.

Day 4: Today it’s time to explore The La Madeline Archipelago:  the Mediterranean national park between Corsica and Sardinia. The archipelago is composed of Seven Isles of extraordinary beauty, all together which protect the International Park .

Day 5: Leisurely enjoy the morning in this serene setting before continuing onto Porto Cervo, Sardinia.  The village is the main center of the Costa Smeralda and originally built by the Agha Khan, as a playground for Europe’s glitterati; it’s a shopping paradise.  Every evening people throng the quaint streets and restaurants to see and be seen!

Day 6: The yacht will cruise around to Cala de Volpe.  This is a day for fun in the sun.  Enjoying the water toys or relax on the beautiful beach.   Tonight go ashore for dinner at the famous Cala di Volpe Hotel.

Day 7: Cruise to the island of Tavalara.  This high granite island overlooks the east coast. A natural column of rock on the island’s coast resembles a human figure and is known as “the Stone Sentry” or “Pope’s Rock.   Enjoy another day of watersports and relaxing on board.

Day 8: The yacht will cruise to Olbia for departure midday.
