When Kit started searching for the correct vessel for our family, I didn’t realise the extensive knowledge he had, he was very modest about his experienced background in the boating industry, this however became obvious as we progressed with investigation, his knowledge was essential with the yacht search.
We managed to secure the best surveyor on the west coast of the USA, Kit worked tirelessly with the engine surveyor and general yacht surveyor through finalising the purchase. Due to a Covid environment the process was hindered with our family not being able to view the vessel prior to purchase. Kit worked with us to navigate the settlement offshore and gave our family the confidence and comfort we were buying a great vessel.
Kits honesty, commitment and knowledge are just some of the key attributes that made this purchase possible in a tough environment, the Denison Yacht Sales team were fantastic providing support through the closing process which was foreign to how we do it in New Zealand, but they made it easy for us to navigate.

This is a letter of commendation for my yacht broker, Patrick Hopkins. I first met Patrick back in 2016 through a referral, while looking to sell my Mainship Pilot. Patrick did a professional job taking photos and writing up the listing, which quickly found a buyer.
Fast forward to 2021, and my wife and I decided we were ready to move up from our Grand Banks Eastbay 38. Patrick’s knowledge and experience with the Eastbay line, as well as other downeast models, was invaluable as we narrowed down our search.
He found a great listing for a 2008 Eastbay 45SX, but there was already a contract, with one back-up. He encouraged us to go in anyway - you never know what's going to happen. Sure enough, he called me one week later to tell me buyer #1 didn’t get his financing, buyer #2 was financing dependent, and Patrick was able to convince the listing broker that the Seller should go with our offer. He did, and we are now proud owners of the 45SX.
We then spoke with Patrick about the need to sell our 2002 Eastbay 38, Patrick got the listing ready, sold the boat in 1 day, and we are closing this week.
