42' Hunter 2004

This beautiful Hunter 420 Passage is offered for sale here in Newport Beach and the owner is  encouraging offers.  This hard to find 2004 is the perfect boat for coastal cruising be it to Catalina or down to Mexico.  Set up for shorthanded sailing, she has a comfortable center cockpit with all control lines leading aft to the cockpit along with a great bimini and easy boarding thanks to the generous swim step.  Upgraded lighting on the cockpit arch adds a nice touch for those warm summer evenings sitting out at anchor and watching the stars.

Performance wise with Hunter's deep winged keel; an in-mast mainsail furler, a genoa furler on the bow and her UK Sails, makes this Hunter 420 easy for a couple to sail.  When the wind dies, her dependable 56 HP Yanmar diesel engine with approximately 625 hours and her three bladed prop will always get you home.  The boat features a nice electronics package with a new Raymarine Axiom 9 digital touch screen chart plotter. 

The interior of this 420 offers a two cabin layout with a light and airy main salon with lots of ports and hatches for great ventilation.  The layout offers comfortable living with the addition of her new flat screen TVs and upgraded Bose sound system in the main salon and master stateroom along with upgraded fixtures in the galley area and forward head. Forward she offers a very comfortable forward Pullman with a double berth and adjacent head.  With the center cockpit layout, she offers a very private aft master stateroom with a comfortable walk-around double berth with plenty of storage and an en-suite head with dedicated shower.

Entering from the center cockpit to below decks, the galley is to port and the nav station to starboard.  The wide and roomy salon features a convertible dinette with a high gloss table and features an opposing settee, both with lots of storage capabilities.

This Hunter 420 offer nice wide decks and a center cockpit with plenty of seating.  All of your halyards and control lines lead back to the cockpit which features a canvas dodger and bimini top which can be fully enclosed. 

The steering pedestal allows for plenty of electronics space along with the engine controls located on the coaming.  The Lewmar folding wheel allows the helmsperson a clear view of the sails as well as the wheel being able to be folded up while at the dock or anchor which really opens up the cockpit access to the built in stern seating and access to the build-in transom steps.  The open transom features two large storage compartments and the shower along with the fold down swim ladder

A fold-up center table is great for entertaining along with the custom lighting for those warm summer nights at the slip or on the mooring in Catalina.
