CHAPTER TWO is a fine Grand Banks Classic Trawler in wonderful condition and with a long equipment list. This two sleeping cabin, galley down trawler was custom built for a seasoned, worldwide cruising couple with long range cruising in mind.
Accommodations are very good. The aft cabin has the walk around queen bed, head with vanity to port, and separate, large shower stall to starboard. The large guest cabin is forward with wonderful single berths and a private head with separate shower stall, washer and dryer, and watermaker. Light and ventilation is well provided for, and the trawler has three zone air conditioning.
Grand Banks worked with the drive train manufactures, Volvo and Hundestead, to design a very economical, durable, long lasting system. The 428 hp diesel is the Volvo 102 series commercial diesel, rated for over 30,000 hours. The engine drives the Hundestead variable pitch propeller system. There is no transmission. This owner cruises the trawler at 1100 rpm for a good turn of speed (8.5 knots) and great economy-4.5gph. She operates smoothly and quietly, and is very maneuverable.
