Yacht Description

The Selene 57 represents the ultimate evolution of the most popular Selene, the 53. The Cockpit is much larger than the 53 and even larger than the Selene 60. The Main Salon is bigger and has a stairwell down to the engine room and to the Owner's Stateroom. A second stairwell forward in the Pilothouse provides access to the VIP Stateroom and to the Guest Stateroom.

The Selene 57 is a serious long-range Ocean Trawler with extended range. Equipped with a single continuous duty Cummins diesel and a Yanmar "take-home" engine, stabilizers and watermaker she will cruise safely and comfortably to distant ports. In addition to her extensive equipment list she is also a "head turner" when passing by. Her graceful lines are admired by all.

The interior throughout is Satin Varnished Teak with Teak and Holly Soles. The "Fit and Finish" is extraordinary as found on all the highly regarded Selene Ocean Trawlers.

This Selene has five boarding options! First, from the wide swim platform through the transom door into the large cockpit. This is ideal when boarding by tender when at anchor and makes boarding safe and easy for kids, dogs and adults as well. There are also Port and Starboard boarding doors into the cockpit for use when in your slip. Two additional Optional boarding doors are located on the wide side decks forward just outside of the Pilothouse doors. These are used when tied up in a slip with pilings.and the tide has changed. Boarding is always safe and easy on the Selene 57!

The first impression upon entering the Cockpit is its' size. This is a really large Cockpit that can easily accommodate a table and chairs and has a graceful Stairwell leading to the Flybridge Deck. The high bulwarks are finished with beautifully varnished Caprails that are a beautiful contrast to the recently painted "Ice Blue" hull.

The Main Salon is entered through a "Diamond Sea Glaze" Dutch door. These Dutch doors are also found Port and Starboard from the Pilothouse and they provide fresh air ventilation while prohibiting entering or leaving interior spaces. Upon entering the Main Salon your first impression is summed up in one word,"Elegance". To port is an L-shaped settee with hi-low folding table. The Salon table is a thing of beauty itself and offers several configurations. To starboard are two comfortable Easy Chairs with Ottomans separated by a convenient cabinet with Ebony-Inlaid Teak Countertop. Large windows flood light into the Main Salon providing not only light but great views. Looking forward is a recessed Flat Screen TV with great viewing angles from any seat in the Salon. The fully equipped U-shaped galley is forward to port and separated from the Salon by granite-topped cabinetry. To starboard of the Galley is additional cabinetry and one of the most important features of this Selene 57. There is a Stairwell down to a landing with two doors. One door is a watertight door to the Engine Room and the other is the Private Entrance to the Master Stateroom. Smaller Selene's like the 53 do not offer this great feature.

The Master Stateroom has a Walk-Around Center-line Queen bed with ensuite Master Head and Stall Shower. The Master Head features Optional Stone floor, another touch of Elegance! There is abundant storage, hanging lockers and a door forward leading to the Guest Staterooms. Once again the "fit and finish" found on Selene's is obvious here in the Master Stateroom. Special lighting and the overhead design feature above the Owner's bed highlight this Stateroom.

The forward Staterooms are accessed from the Master and also from a stairwell leading down from the Pilothouse above. The VIP Stateroom is as nice as most Master Staterooms and boasts another Walk-Around large bed. This Stateroom is forward with the Guest Stateroom located midships. The Guest Stateroom offers two single beds as well as a desk and additional countertop. Both Staterooms have abundant storage and hanging lockers. There is a Guest Head shared by these two Staterooms with Stall Shower. This Head can also be used as a day head by guests as it is just steps down from the Pilothouse..

A few steps up from the Main Salon is the Pilothouse. In keeping with all else aboard is a Stidd Helmseat with special piping. The visibility from the lower helm is excellent not only to enjoy the view but also to safely operate this Selene 57. Looking forward through the reverse slanted windows you will feel comfortable maneuvering with excellent sight lines. The Electronics console is loaded with screens for radar display, chart display and camera views. Thruster, Main Engine and Wing Engine controls are arranged in proper order as well as Stabilizer and remote controls for the generator.

The Pilothouse has Port and Starboard "Diamond Sea Glaze" Dutch doors leading aft to the Cockpit or forward to the Portuguese Bridge and Foredeck. There is a raised L-shaped Settee behind the Helm Seat with a raised Teak Table. Behind the Settee is a large drawer for paper chart stowage and a Pilot Berth. The Pilot Berth is expands to accommodate taller (longer) crew members or guests. This berth is excellent when two are on watch with one sleeping and readily available to assist or take over the helm. The Pilothouse Settee may be the favorite place to sit, relax, enjoy the view and hang out with the Captain. A stairwell leads to the Flybridge Deck from the Pilothouse.
