David Hicks

A life-long boater from Toms River, New Jersey, David was born into a family that spent every summer weekend on a boat. His upbringing revolved around boating. By age 10, he'd been aboard various boats on waterways all over the country. The views, the scent of the ocean air immediately take him back to when he was boating with his family – special memories that ultimately led to a career in yachting.

After high school, David enlisted in the U.S. Navy before spending time as an apprentice with naval meteorologists. He loved serving in the military and appreciated how much of the world he saw from different coastlines around the globe.

After the Navy, he studied business management and then started his own contracting business. But David realized that he enjoyed meeting potential clients, as well as creating and maintaining relationships with them, much more than managing construction workers. So, in 2007, he made the decision to start working in the yachting business and began a yacht management company before becoming a full-time captain onboard a 70' Hatteras in 2010.

People buy boats to create lasting memories with family and friends, which is why David enjoys being a part of that journey with his customers and helping them throughout their boating life.
