Antigua Show Day 4: Toys Toys Toys!

One of my favorite parts of touring the yachts at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show is getting to see all the fun toys they keep onboard.  Chartering a yacht for your private getaway also means chartering your own playground on water!  From inflatable trampolines and climbing walls, to paddleboards and laser sail dinghies, to jetpacks and jetskis, these vessels have it all and love to show off what they’ve got.

One watersport that has taken the yachting world by storm recently is flyboarding.  If you’ve ever seen a YouTube video of a person flying through the air on jets of water, it was likely by flyboard.  These boots literally shoot out water from underneath your feet, and can be worn on their own or in combination with a Jetpack or Jetlev vest.  This is extreme watersports at it’s best, and you can find them on numerous yachts here, including motoryacht AMARULA SUN and motoryacht H.

If heading underwater is more your style, you can find many of these charter yachts equipped with Seabobs.  Hang on tight as these underwater scooters take you gliding with schools of fish and overhead of breathtaking reefs.  Prefer to take things slow?  Dive equipment and snorkel gear is also standard on most charter yachts.  Some vessels, such as sailing yacht HYPERION and motoryacht MIRAGE, even have a dive instructor onboard fulltime to show you the way.

Hands down the best part of chartering a yacht with children is the inflatables, and these yachts surely have plenty of them! Charter guests of motoryacht SAI RAM, for example, can head out on anchor all day to play on their trampoline, paddleboards, kayaks, 5-person banana boat, and giant slide.  These items are all inflatable, so they can be packed away while the boat cruises, then set up wherever you drop anchor to keep the kids and adults alike busy for hours.

Last but not least, are the indoor toys, which are not simply limited to board games alone.  Aboard motoryacht BATON ROUGE, guests can surround the main deck lounge table for backgammon or chess, then flip the center of the table over to reveal a felt surface for a night of poker or blackjack.  You’re also sure to find an Xbox or Wi or Playstation onboard most vessels, fully stocked with all the latest and greatest games.  Finally, you have the skylounge on motoryacht PASSION, packed with real arcade games like Ms. Pacman and Golden Tee, plus a full-size air hockey table perfect for evening tournaments.  No tokens necessary!
