About Denison Yachting

Frank Denison's journey in yachting began long before Broward Marine. Known throughout the industry as "Mr. D," he built a reputation for spotting potential where others saw problems. After purchasing, repairing, and reselling boats, he became one of the first innovators to install diesel engines in yachts, helping shape the future of recreational boating.

In 1948, while on his honeymoon, Frank purchased Dooley's Dry Dock in Fort Lauderdale and renamed it Broward Marine. The shipyard had previously built military vessels during World War II, and under Frank's leadership it evolved into one of America's most respected yacht-building operations. The acquisition marked the beginning of a family legacy that would influence the yachting industry for generations.

Throughout the decades, Broward Marine earned a reputation for thinking differently. From building military vessels and custom megayachts to pioneering aluminum yacht construction, the company consistently embraced new ideas, technologies, and materials. Its commitment to innovation helped establish South Florida as a global center for yacht construction.
