About Broward Yachts
Frank Denison founded Broward Marine in 1948 when he purchased the Ft. Lauderdale shipyard, then known as Dooley’s Dry Dock while on his honeymoon with his wife, Gertrude.
Frank & Gertrude later made many yachting innovations, including the installation of the first diesel engines in a yacht and the “Country Kitchen.”
Throughout the Korean War and WWII, Broward Marine constructed military vessels for the Dutch and U.S. Navy. It later began building custom yachts ranging between 60 and 165 feet and became the largest private employer in Broward County, Florida. Time Magazine acknowledged the 95’ Broward Alisa V as the largest private motoryacht built in the United States for 30 years.
With a reputation for quality and value, Broward Marine, a family business, launched over 300 yachts.
