CNB 76 “Sapphire” Places 5th in Heineken Regatta

March 9, 2017 2:48 pm

Denison Superyacht Broker Glynn Smith recently returned from St. Maarten, where he competed in the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta onboard the CNB 76 “Sapphire,” which placed 5th in its division.

The 37th edition of the regatta offered four days of world class racing in extremely high winds. “Sapphire,” which competed in the Maxi division, placed 1st in one race and 3rd in another.

This was Smith’s fourth time competing in the regatta but his first time competing in it with the CNB 76. Smith also raced on the CNB 76 in the Candy Store Regatta in Newport in July and will be racing it next at Antigua Sailing Week in April.

“It was tough racing but it was a lot of fun,” he said. “There were very strong winds and some very lively sailing for sure.”

The CNB 76 embodies the shipyard’s will to develop a large, luxurious sailing yacht that would be the perfect transition between CNB Yacht Builders’ one-off and semi-custom yachts. Seafaring, elegant and functional, the CNB 76 is built in composite, and her hull and rigging are those of a 21st century yacht.
