May 25, 2017 1:23 pm

Van der Valk has just launched the 27-meter flybridge superyacht ANEMELI, the largest model in the Dutch shipyard’s Continental Two series to date.

Construction began January 16 on the superyacht, which will undergo commissioning and sea trials before being delivered to her new owner next month.

Designed by Guido de Groot and incorporating naval architecture by Jaron Ginton, ANEMELI is one of the first Van der Valk yachts to feature a fast displacement hull design. Her all-aluminium, round-bilged hull with a bulb on the submerged section artificially extends the waterline. She’s powered by new generation 1,400hp MAN V12 1900 engines.

She was built for a highly experienced owner who requested a hull with a bulbous bow to improve performance and fuel efficiency. Key features on ANEMELI include a VEEM VG120 gyro stabilization system for a more comfortable cruising experience.

ANEMELI combines the advantages of a flybridge motoryacht with lines similar to those of Van der Valk’s Raised Pilothouse series and is characterized by a helm station on the main deck and an expansive flybridge area.

Other variations on the Van der Valk Continental Two formula include a larger bathing platform for tender storage, freeing up the entire superyacht sundeck for dining and relaxing.

She features a U-shaped foredeck seating area, shaded by a retractable Bimini, while her 6.72 meter beam allows for plenty of interior space. Accommodation for eight guests is spread across a master suite, VIP cabin and two twin cabins.

Other superyacht projects currently under development at the Dutch yard include a 24.75 meter compact explorer yacht and a 26 meter yacht from the Van Der Valk Continental Three collection, both of which are scheduled to be launched this year.
