Ocean Alexander Yachts Announces Expansion in Taiwan

OA85 YachtAlexander Marine, builder of Ocean Alexander yachts, announced the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Taiwan. The company said “record-breaking sales this past summer” culminated in 9 new yacht sales, requiring the expansion in the city of Kaohsiung. Sales trends have shown an increase in larger yachts, and the yard will expand to meet the demand for them.

“There’s been a very strong response to our designs in 90′ and 112′ range,” Alexander Marine executive vice president Kevin Tseng said. “Many of our owners stay with us as they move up in size, and we want to continue to maintain our high standards for build quality, material integrity and our renowned wood craftsmanship. We are able to fulfill that standard by expanding the Taiwan yard and bringing our highly skilled employees back into one location.”

The yard in China will be closed so the company “can consolidate key personnel with many years of boatbuilding experience into one yard.”
