The Viking 74 Convertible – The Yacht only Viking can Build

From what we can see, the new Viking 74 Convertible Sportfisherman is destined to become the most incredible and talked about boat in Viking’s 40-year history.

The remarkable Viking 74 Convertible takes luxurious yachting and big-game fishing to a new level. And, it gives a new definition to the term Convertible. It should be well suited to meet your demands for comfort, luxury and exceptional range to safely travel to remote locations.

Viking 74 Convertible – Dramatic and Aggressive

The 74 Convertible’s eye pleasing sheer is obvious. Although the 74 Convertible is notably wider and has a significantly larger deckhouse than the 65 Convertible, it is only 14” higher, which gives the boat its dramatic and aggressive stature. This additional height, however, is not for appearance alone. It also allows the salon and galley to be on one level, which significantly opens up the entire area into a spectacular great room for entertaining, relaxing and dining.

Viking 74 Convertible – Fabulous Salon

The salon features a plasma television on a mechanism that raises and lowers it from the hand-fitted teak cabinetry opposite the U-shaped lounge. The home theater system also includes a DVD/CD player, VCR and FM stereo with custom surround sound speakers. Air conditioning with reverse cycle heat circulates from concealed registers behind the valences to maximize airflow while minimizing noise and drafts. Individual temperature controls increase efficiency and comfort throughout the yacht’s living areas. And, yes… this is still a fishing machine!

Viking 74 Convertible – A Fishing Machine

The AC/DC main electrical service panel is positioned right inside the molded fiberglass salon door for easy viewing. For added convenience the salon door opens and closes electrically for hands-free operation. In addition to the frameless side windows with tinted tempered glass, which provide natural lighting, the salon also features recessed Halogen lights on dimmer switches and decorative rope lighting behind the valences.

The galley is a chef’s delight with its durable Amtico flooring, under mounted stainless-steel sink and luxurious granite countertops. Appliances include Sub-Zero undercounter refrigeration, a trash compactor, a surface-mounted electric cooktop, and microwave.

Viking 74 Convertible – Dining in a Class Environment

Substantial stowage is provided throughout the galley behind varnished teak cabinets with large, easy-sliding pullout drawers. Additionally, stowage compartments are located in the day head, which is adjacent to the galley companionway. For convenience, there are two distinct dining areas with a dinette to starboard, and bar stools to port.

Viking 74 Convertible – Bridgedeck has all that you Need

Available with four or five staterooms, as well as a choice of an open and climate-controlled enclosed bridge layout with an available inside spiral staircase to the wheelhouse, the 74 Convertible favors maximum privacy and comfort whether campaigning on the tournament trail or cruising secluded islands in the Bahamas.

Viking 74 Convertible – Master Amidships Suite

The master suite is amidships and offers a king-size walkaround bed with an upholstered headboard and maple-lined stowage below. The bed is flanked with varnished teak end tables and to starboard is an L-shaped lounge with a stowage compartment underneath. Twin maple-lined, mirror-fronted hanging lockers, a teak credenza, a vanity desk and a built-in entertainment system, which includes a flat screen television and stereo/CD player create a most inviting retreat. A variety of layouts allow maximum flexibility.

First and foremost a tournament fishing machine, the cockpit has been designed to accommodate serious blue-water anglers. The 218 square foot cockpit is outfitted with a transom door and walk-through gate, recessed in-deck fish box and available live well and ice box. An observation mezzanine with port and starboard aft facing lounges also houses the tackle cabinets, a bait freezer and general stowage for bulky gear. All hatches feature gas struts for easy lifting and positive action and a refrigerated chill box is in the mezzanine step. For added versatility, port and starboard Glendinning Cablemasters are included.

An exhaustive standard equipment list includes chilled-water air conditioning, an Atlas power system, Headhunter heads, two 27.5 kW gensets, spacious crew quarters with private access, Murray Products helm and companion seats on the flying bridge, recessed electronic stowage, power-assisted hydraulic steering and electronic trolling valves.

With propeller pockets reducing its project draft to 5’7” and a 2,400-gallon fuel capacity, (3,000 gallons available as an option), the Viking 74 Convertible will surpass the best in class by creating an entirely new breed of luxury convertible.
