Ferretti Group Begins Yacht Production in San Paulo, Brazil

Ferretti Motor Yachts For SaleThe Ferretti Group, a world leader in the designing, building and marketing of luxury motoryachts has strengthened its investment in the Brazilian market with the inauguration of the new Ferretti Group Brasil production facility located outside of São Paulo.

Established in late 2010, the new facility is among the largest of its kind in Latin America and features a total surface area of 145,000m², of which 45,000m² is enclosed. When producing at full capacity, the shipyard has the capability to build up to 120 motoryachts per year from the entire Ferretti Group range. It is dedicated to producing yachts that measure up to 83’ and are exclusively tailored to the demands of the Brazilian clientele. Currently, the plant can build 11 Ferretti Yachts models, 2 Pershing Yachts models and 1 Bertram sportfish yacht.

The facility employees 600 yacht-workers dedicated to production, each of whom share an in-depth technical knowledge of the nautical sector with over 20 years of experience working with the prestigious Ferretti Group organization. A specialized team of artisans diligently work on every detail of the yachts, from laminating the hull to furniture design, assembly and layout. These skilled craftsmen help create each yacht into a true work of art for its owner to have an unforgettable experience onboard. Moreover, the entire line of production features an incredibly high level of efficiency and highly technologically advanced production process.

Ferrettigroup Brasil was founded in April 2010, following a joint venture between Ferretti Group and partner Marcio Latorre Christiansen, who has a long-standing history with the Ferretti Group. Spanning a period of 20 years, the working relationship between the two has helped lead the Ferretti Group in becoming a major reference point for Brazil’s nautical market. Today, Ferrettigroup Brasil is the center for building, marketing and providing after-sales assistance for all of Ferretti Group’s yachts in the Brazilian market and is the key contributing factor to the company’s expansion in Brazil.

The exceptional response of the Brazilian clientele during the 2011 Rio de Janeiro Boat Show clearly demonstrated fruit with total yacht sales of over 35 million Euros for boats produced in Brazil. Moreover, the Ferretti 720 Motoryacht, Ferretti 620 and Aquariva vessels, all produced in Italy, were sold immediately after the Rio Boat Show. Furthermore, negotiations are currently in progress for a significant number of notable yachts including a CRN 43m and three units of the new Custom Line 100’.

Further comments from The Ferretti Group regarding the announcement:

“The outstanding results we are achieving in the Brazilian market and the Ferretti Group’s excellent collection of orders, which accounts for over 80% of the overall turnover forecasted for the 31st August 2011, attributes to our optimism for the nautical year in progress. Moreover, we have already logged new orders of over 200 million Euro for the next few years. This only reaffirms our confidence in the Group’s development, which will surely continue a positive trend in the nautical market,” commented Giancarlo Galeone, Ferretti Group CEO. “The Ferretti Group is considered a true reference point for the world nautical market, symbolic of quality yachts. The success we are enjoying in Brazil through Ferrettigroup Brasil only validates the strength of our strategic partnership with Marcio Latorre Christiansen”.

“We are finding there is huge potential for development in Brazil, which extends to all areas of South America, and are confident that this venture will also result in further growth for our brands over the next few years,” declared Lamberto Tacoli, Ferretti Group Chief Sales & Marketing Officer. “The Ferretti Group is deemed acknowledged as one of the top producers of luxury yachts across the globe, so it is essential that we strengthen our presence in key Pan-American areas by means of unremitting marketing and sales activities in conjunction with well-executed special events. This is why we have decided to concentrate on Ferrettigroup Brasil, with the aim of further expanding a market which is historically at the centre of our business.”

“Ferrettigroup Brasil’s aim is to continually seize the challenges of the Brazilian market and best satisfy the demands of its clients in this country. Hence, we can be extremely proud of the excellent results we have achieved over the past few years,” commented Marcio Latorre Christiansen, Ferrettigroup Brasil CEO. “We are, therefore, honoured to have the top management of the Ferretti Group here with us today, further demonstration of the enormous commitment and passion with which we are working on this important project together.”
