Did Royal Huisman build the most beautiful yacht ever?

December 15, 2017 12:31 pm

In the last few years, we have seen some of the most beautiful sailing yachts ever to come out of the sheds. Just recently, the 107m Black Pearl from Oceanco was unveiled. The revolutionary bow of the incredible sailing yacht stunned every sailing enthusiast.

Just a few months before that, Aquijo was introduced, also built by Oceanco in partnership with Vitters. Vitters launched the jaw-dropping Unfurled, which dominated her first St. Bart’s bucket. But today, all of these yachts are forgotten thanks to the newest contribution from Royal Huisman

Ngoni, previously known as “The Beast,” is an instant classic. Every sailing enthusiast who sees this boat will fall in love. Her exterior design is the work of the late Ed Dubois, and probably his masterpiece. The owner’s brief was simple: “Built me a beast, not a sheep in wolf’s clothes,” and Royal Huisman delivered.

The yacht is a stunning 190′ performance yacht, built out of the lightest materials. Her carbon fiber rig, one of the top three tallest ever built by Rondal, culminates at over 75m. The fully battened square top mainsail will power the yacht at incredible speeds. This absolutely no-compromise boat is dedicated to speed, with a perfectly flush deck, no extra weight and the use of the finest carbon fiber in almost every component onboard.

The anchors are located underwater, and no lines can be seen on deck. The foredeck also accommodates a flush tender garage and a well-hidden jacuzzi, protected from the sun by a hanging tent.

Surprisingly, the yacht can accommodate only 6 guests overnight. Accommodations include a lavish master suite, featuring a study, a gym, and an en-suite bathroom. The crew of 9 is accommodated forward of the mast in multiple staterooms. The number of crew aboard and the level of luxury in their accommodations will be a great advantage for the owner, especially when racing.

For some, Ngoni will just be another boat among others, and for some, it will simply be a crazy yacht, but for others, it is without a doubt the best yacht ever built. One thing, however, is sure: whoever sees her will not remain indifferent.
