Azimut 60 Motor Yacht Highlight [Boat Review]

June 26, 2020 3:56 pm

Denison yacht broker Riccardo Solci gives a personal tour of STILL DREAMING, a 60′ Azimut 2019 motor yacht, now available for sale in Fisher Island, Florida.

I am Riccardo Solci with a Denison Yachting based in Miami Beach. Today I’m going to be taking you on a walkthrough of my latest listing Motor Yacht – Still Dreaming. She is a 2019 Azimut 60 Fly – the newest generation of Azimut Yachts introduced in 2018. Her exterior lines identify Still Dreaming immediately as an asset. 2019 model has significant exterior design innovation by naval architect Stefano Origine. Some of my favorite lines are her vertical bow. She looks amazing cutting through the waves. Another feature of note is the volume that we find on her extremely spacious flybridge that now extends further aft than previous models. This is a big deal because the flybridge is where guests are likely to spend most of their time.

The Azimut 60 Fly offers three comfortable cabins each with their own bathrooms. One final area I want to point out before we get started today is her foredeck sunbathing area. There is no shortage of usable exterior space.

Let’s start today’s walkthrough up on the flybridge. With the newly redesigned layout, the flybridge is extremely spacious. And like I mentioned earlier, it extends further aft than you may expect. This area embodies all of the elements of an Italian luxury product – long simple lines that create areas for social interaction and ultimately to celebrate life with your family and guests onboard.

First, we have the helm station. With pilot and co-pilot seats, she offers her owner the ultimate pleasure in piloting while flying above the water. This is just a few feet away from a grilling station. There is also an ice-maker and a sink conveniently located in front of the dinette. Finally is a fully furnished seating area. From here let’s jump to the foredeck.

Offering a completely different experience than the flybridge, the foredeck is a private oasis that has become something Azimut is famous for. It might look like a fairly standard foredeck layout but the sunbathing area can easily convert into two comfortable sitting areas for breakfast in the morning or sipping cocktails in the evening. Shade is provided by the Bimini overhead. Forward of this is her ground tackle.

Now, let’s head up and check out the aft deck. This space is going to get used as a primary alfresco dining location. This dinette features a teak table. Underfoot is the engine room access hatch. Down here is where we find a pair of Volvo Penta D13 diesel engines, each generating 900 horsepower. While out on this morning’s sea trial, the boat performed magnificently with a top speed in excess of 31-knots. Her cruise speed is 28-knots. Just a few steps down from the aft deck is the teak platform. This is your ticket to enjoy in the water anytime you want. This is also where her tender is stored when underway. The hydraulic swing platform holds a tender of 3.25 meter. There is also some secondary storage space, sufficient enough for Seabob fenders or diving gear. The layout of this yacht provides crew accommodation with a single cab with a bathroom and a shower.

From here let’s step inside and take a look at Steel Dreaming’s interior spaces. We’re first going to take a look at the salon that was designed by a Khillas Alvani, one of interior digest top 100 international designers. The design philosophy is based on the theme of timeless calm and elegance which also puts an emphasis on a contemporary look. For materials here we will see primarily brush oak embellish with brass and stainless steel accent. Forward of the sitting area is the yacht formal dining area. This area is furnished with a high-low table. This dinette can also be expanded to fit 6-guests.

Across from the formal dining space is her striking galley. With plenty of countertop space and storage this galley is a great place to prepare and cook your meals. All of the appliances are made by Miley, a top brand producer with some of the most reliable appliances available on the yacht today. The galley is fully equipped with freezer and refrigerator, double sink and even space for a wine cooler.

Forward of the galley is the lower helm. The state-of-the-art helm is equipped with the latest equipment available from the Azimut Innovation Lab. This system ensures optical yacht management solutions and features like active trim control which automatically adjust the trim of the yacht while underway. Not only does this give you one less thing to think about but it also guarantees the lowest possible fuel consumption. Electronic power steering allows you to customize the helm sensitivity by regulating the number of wheel turns and the force required. This also increases safety because the maximum steering angle is reduced at full throttle and increase at slower speed. From here let’s head below deck and take a look at the master stateroom.

Here in the midship owner’s suite the styling borrows a homey feel. All of the furniture found in here fits this yacht’s contemporary styling perfectly. Like the rest of the staterooms, the master also has a private ensuite. Forward of the master on the starboard side is another cabin with twin berths. Her final stateroom is the bow VIP.
