2014 Detroit Boat Show To Be Held in February at Cobo Center

The 2014 Detroit Boat Show will be held February 15-23 at the Cobo Center, moving into bigger halls there because of an increasing demand for space and allowing the show to grow to 300,000 square feet. Boat show organizers said hundreds of boats from 10 to 55′ will be on display and for sale.

“In 2012, Michigan outpaced the rest of the county in growth and sales for our industry,” Detroit Boat Show manager Nicki Polan. “2013 has also been a good year for our industry, and we’re thrilled to see the increase in demand for space from our exhibitors. Attendees will be pleased to see a second year of significant growth for the show with more and bigger boats than last year.”

The boat show will feature hundreds of boats for fishing, skiing, wakeboarding and cruising, plus paddleboats, kayaks, paddleboards and inflatables.

Organizers said more than 65,000 consumers are expected to attend and that more than 1,500 boats, worth an estimated $50 million, traditionally sell during the show’s nine-day run and shortly afterward to leads generated there.

The show also offers exhibits that will sell boating accessories and services, including motors, dockage, water toys, skiing and wakeboarding gear, boating and fishing accessories, electronics, boat gear, nautical gifts and artwork.
