Burger Yachts Joins Monaco Foundation’s Wood Forever Program

Burger Yachts For SaleBurger Yachts announced its membership in the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s Wood Forever program.

The Foundation encourages yacht builders to only use timber from sustainably managed forests. Burger Yachts signed a partnership agreement and has committed to analyzing its wood supply chain to develop a sustainable wood-purchasing policy and, in doing so, fight deforestation.

“Our presence in the Principality of Monaco and the respect we have for our environment and Prince Albert II has certainly encouraged us to promote and support the use of certified wood products on the yachts we build. We are convinced that the yachting industry must set an example through ethical and socially responsible behaviors, and we are taking action within our organization to adopt these behaviors,” Burger Yachts president and CEO Jim Ruffolo said in a statement.
