Strictly Sail Pacific continues through the weekend

Strictly Sail Pacific, the West Coast’s largest all-sailboat show, offerings ranged from free dockside seminars and sailboat rides to special presentations from America’s Cup Red Bull Youth Sailing Force team members,

“This year’s show (was) packed with hands-on activities and programs to encourage today’s youth to get on the water,” Sail America Association manager Peter Durant said in a statement.

The show featured new sailboats, gear, accessories, hardware, 110 seminars, hands-on workshops, free sailboat rides and an America’s Cup Pavilion with the America’s Cup Trophy on display.

From nautical novices to serious sailors, the show was the place for boaters of all ages to immerse themselves in the sailing lifestyle, talk to experts, participate in hands-on seminars, learn new sailing techniques, get on the water and have fun.

Sailboats of every size and budget filled the grounds of Jack London Square, in and out of the water, including sleek racers, catamarans, luxury yachts and dinghies.

The show offered seminars for all levels of sailors, both on land and on the water. From learning boat-handling skills and planning a dream cruise through the South Pacific to rigging and communications; the top names in sailing presented 100 free seminars.

The boat show was produced by Sail America, the trade association for the U.S. sailing industry, which is dedicated to promoting the health and growth of sailing and yachting in America.
