Founder of Sunseeker International, Robert Braithwaite, has laid the first gelcoat on the mold of the new Sunseeker 155 superyacht, which is due for completion in December 2013.
The new flagship yacht will have a 4,500 nautical mile range, weight in at 500 gross tons, and will accommodate 12 guests and 10 crew. The superyacht will incorporate inset ship’s balconies, transverse garaging of tenders and toys, including a private superyacht beach club with lower deck dayroom, folding platform and yacht tender docking.
“Today is the beginning of the manufacturing process that will make my dream a reality,” says Mr. Braithwaite. “She will not be owned by many but those that do will be buying a craft of exceptional style, quality and innovation.”
The Sunseeker 155 is the largest build to-date undertaken by the Poole Shipyard, which can now lay claim to being the only production boatbuilder to manufacture a range of composite boats from 12m-47m (40′-155′).
