Ellie McClean

Ellie McClean has moved around several times growing up; starting out in the U.K., moving to Ohio, then Wisconsin, and eventually to RI, where she attended college at the University of Rhode Island. From there, she moved to Newport, RI, where she has since pursued a career in the yachting industry.

Sailing and being on the water has always been part of Ellie’s life, ever since she first tried sailing when she was 9. She continued sailboat racing while growing up, always living near a lake or seeking out sailing programs near her. Moving to the ocean for university, Ellie studied psychology and was on the URI sailing team for four years, becoming the captain of the team during her senior year.

Since moving to Newport, Ellie has stayed consistent with her sailing and has worked in the marine industry for the past few years, working as a Chandlery Clerk, Dockmaster, and Dockside Manager before joining Denison Yachting earlier this year.

When Ellie is not working, she loves to spend her time racing sailboats of all sizes, practicing yoga, traveling, getting her steps in, and enjoying time with friends and family.
