Sanlorenzo Yachts Unveils New 203′ Steel Superyacht

Sanlorenzo Yachts and the prestigious studio Officina Italiana Design recently signed an agreement for the design of the next Sanlorenzo models, starting with its new 50’/60′ entry level in fiberglass, up to the yard’s new flagship, the Sanlorenzo 62Steel, a 62-meter (203′ LOA) superyacht in steel.

Designer Mauro Micheli explains the 62Steel: “Looking at the nautical market we realized that there are many yachts with chaotic exterior lines. So we had the idea to think about a yacht without exaggerations, but with an extreme formal simplicity, an elegant and sober object. We think that personality in general does not come from exaggeration but from harmony and proportion instead… in the maximum respect of efficiency and safety”.

“Sanlorenzo and Officina Italiana Design” – says Fulvio Dodich, Sanlorenzo CEO – “have been walking so far on a parallel way at the top of the yachting industry, constantly sharing the same values such as quality and elegance, that brought to the creation of beautiful motoryachts with a timeless style, far from evanescent trends, as pure Sanlorenzo DNA. I am sure that now, from this partnership, will come out the most attractive motoryachts of the next years, for the pleasure of all those owners in love with the sea and elegance. These new yachts will become the new point of reference for many years to come and the new 62Steel is a clear example of that”.

“The collaboration with Sanlorenzo is a great honor and a huge challenge,” – says Mauro Micheli from OID – “we could have continued working just for one of the most important brand of the nautical market, but we decided that it was the right time to challenge ourselves with Sanlorenzo, one of the most prestigious shipyard of this sector, the third in the world ranking, that we have always been looking at with interest and esteem. A company fully committed in the design and in the aesthetics, able to stand out by always creating prestigious objects. The big challenge is now to keep working as good as we have done in the past decades. Surely a demanding task, but also an exciting motivation for always doing better and better”
