The 265′ Ulstein research vessel “Cory Chouest,” listed with Kit Denison, has been reduced $250,000 to just $2,650,000.
This research vessel was recently gifted to a major 501(c)(3) yacht donation charity and can be chartered, with an option to purchase after 28 months, for a fraction of its $9.9 million appraised value.
The “Cory” was leased to the U.S. Navy for special operations, including submarine hunting, and boasts a 4-story “moon pool” that was used to launch mini-subs for missions for Seal teams.
The vessel was kept up to ABS Class through 2010, and, at that time, underwent a major refit, with new galley equipment, stateroom and crew quarters upgrades, new electronics, new air conditioning system, audio-gauging, tank testing, and many other improvements.
The “Cory” can be seen in New Orleans and presents a unique opportunity for oceanographic research, fishing, fisheries research, cargo/container shipping and many other uses.
