Hi, Elizabeth Soltes for BoatTest.com, and today I’m going to take a look at the design and styling of the Beneteau MC4.

The MC4 is an ideal example of Beneteau’s commitment to building a luxury cruising motoryacht. Beneteau uses fresh colors and elegant materials to make the living spaces of this 45-foot yacht as comfortable and inviting as the hull makes the ride smooth and efficient.

Beneteau offers what seem to be infinite options when it comes to the selection of colors and materials. Whether your style favors muted colors or bold ones, Beneteau has carefully selected a myriad of colors and textures to meet most clients’ needs.

The forward VIP stateroom is bright and welcoming; thanks in part to 4 opening hull portholes and two overhead skylights. The light brown color palette used on the bedding combined with a brushed oak cabinetry and cream-colored blackout curtains balance out this peaceful cabin.

As expected the master stateroom uses the same color palette and patterns as the VIP stateroom. However, being full beam and the master, there are additional design features in this space. The panoramic windows are a signature of Beneteau’s MC line and enhance the atmosphere of the cabin as well as complement the architecture of the boat.

Let’s take a closer look at the materials. The silky Magelite headboards are padded and slightly shimmer. The solid bedside tables have a tanned leather inlay. Door handles are stainless steel also with leather detail. And the storage compartments are made from Alpi wood finished with stitched leather door pulls.

Both cabins have ensuite bathrooms with similar amenities including a walk-in shower, teak decking, vessel sink with storage below, an opening port light and a skylight. Now that we’ve seen the lower deck let’s see how Beneteau has finished the entertaining areas.

Walking back up to the salon, the first cabinet holds a washer/dryer. Just as below, the cabinets are brushed wood, upholstered with tanned leather and look at this interesting rubberized trim. This entertaining area is open and bright.

To port is the galley complete with bone colored Corian countertops and solid wood cabinets with a cream lacquered finish with space for a television behind. The ceramic stovetop and sink with swing-away faucet keep things neat and tidy when not in use.

To starboard is an L-shaped sofa with room for 6 that surrounds a beautifully finished solid teak table. The sofa and poof are upholstered in a vibrant beige fabric. The decking is solid teak and the dark rubber inlay adds to its dramatic yet subdued look.

Since the salon and cockpit are on the same level, the space feels seamless. The cockpit has a bench seating for 4 and is upholstered with PVC fabric. And this color is diamante snow with a beautiful diamante piping.

It’s clear that the team at Beneteau thought about every last detail when designing both the layout and the materials of the MC4. Although Beneteau does not call the MC4 a custom-built cruiser, I wouldn’t hesitate given all the material options available.

So that’s the review of the design and styling of the Beneteau MC4. For BoatTest.com, I’m Elizabeth Soltes.
