Yacht Review: Beneteau ST 35

Beneteau Swift Trawler 35 | 2018–Current

This stylish pocket trawler is perfect for the retired cruising couple.

Overview:

Stylish twin stateroom cruiser will appeal to sailors and powerboaters alike. Traditional cabin layout has a convertible dinette to starboard in the salon and U-shaped galley forward to port. Large salon windows flood the interior with natural lighting and a door beside the lower helm affords easy access to the deck.

The master stateroom with island berth is forward and the guest stateroom with bunk beds is to port. Both share a single head with stall shower. The Swift Trawler’s asymmetric design — the starboard side deck is wider than the port side deck — makes the most of the boat’s interior space. A clever foldout transom opens the cockpit to the swim platform and a large hatch in the cockpit sole provides access to the engine. A single Cummins 425hp diesel will cruise at 12 knots (16–18 knots top).

Additional Features:
• Double sliding glass entry doors open the cockpit to the salon.
• Sliding deck door at the lower helm makes backing into a slip much easier.
• Bow and stern thrusters assist maneuvering in tight quarters.
• Split transom doors dramatically expand the cockpit.
• Large windows in the bow stateroom bring in plenty of natural light.
• Flybridge extension shades the cockpit from sun and rain.

Price Range:

From the mid $400s (new).
