Best Of Denison 2019 [End Of Year Highlights]

December 19, 2019 10:50 am

It’s been said, “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” 2019 was the biggest year for Denison yet, from superyacht sales, to massive relief efforts, to connecting with new and old clients at some of the biggest events of the year. We’d like to thank you as we reflect on some of our favorite highlights of 2019. Whether you’re in the yachting industry, a client, a competitor, or simply a boat enthusiast, we welcome you to celebrate with us on the strides the industry has made in 2019.

1. Ranked #1 In Superyacht Sales

Ranking #1 in big boat sales
was a major highlight for us, as we sold more yachts over 80′ in 2019 than any other yacht brokerage company in the world.

Surpassing our previous superyacht sales record, with hundreds of millions of dollars in sales, we continue to take pride in bringing each and every client the assurance that listing their yacht for sale with Denison means we’ll get results.

2. Raised $50K+ For Bahamas Relief

Bahamas Relief Raffle:
When the Bahamas were struck by Hurricane Dorian, we knew we had to get to work right away. What started as a GoFundMe page ended up being a much larger movement that we were thankful to be a part of.

Our Bahamas relief effort raised over $50,000 for hurricane relief, with Denison brokers offering up their services to raffle up, like day-trips on yachts, docking lessons, and sailboat cruises.

3. MIASF Golden Anchor Award

The Golden Anchor Award
, an award given by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, is an annual award given to individuals or businesses from the industry whose outstanding achievement and contributions represent excellence and have had a positive and significant impacts on the South Florida recreational marine industry. This year, the Golden Anchor Award was posthumously given to Frank and Gertrude Denison, recognizing their lifetime of contributions to the marine industry.

4. Most Superyachts At FLIBS

2019 was our most successful year at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show with more locations + more yachts on display over 100′ than any other firm.

This year’s FLIBS attracted 100,000+ yachting families who came to see the latest + greatest. Denison’s Yacht Hop on Saturday night was a success with over 800 in attendance.

5. Added A Catamaran Line

We were proud to become a dealer for the brand new Excess Catamarans, partnered with Beneteau Group, as well as represent a variety of new boat brands. Our Catamaran expert, Wiley Sharp, gave an exclusive look at the XCS 12 at the Cannes Yachting Festival this year.

With her twin helm station aft, the sailing experience has been reinvented on the Excess. The Excess 15 and Excess 12 models are available for purchase in South Florida and California, and we’re ready to show you what the Excess Catamarans can do.

6. Bigger, Cooler Superyachts

From featuring the award-winning VIATORIS at the Monaco Yacht Show, to displaying the fan-favorite 174′ Oceanfast MIZU at FLIBS, we were proud to offer a wide variety of extraordinary megayachts.

These eye-catching superyachts keep the industry feeling fresh, break out of the conventions of what a superyacht should be, and innovate life on the water. To gain a glimpse into all the yachts we’ve highlighted in 2019, see our full superyacht walkthrough video playlist here.

7. Hosted Biggest Rendezvous

The Bahamas Denison Rendezvous was our most successful Rendezvous to date, with more than 80 attendees. Every year, Denison hosts clients, family, and friends for a long weekend full of fun in the sun. For 3 days, staff and clients attended events, mingled, and shared laughs.

Whether we were getting together for private dolphin shows, hopping from yacht to yacht, snorkeling, or embarrassing ourselves with karaoke, spending time connecting with our clients continues to be a highlight every year.

8. Attracted Millions Online

From being positioned on the 1st page of Google, to engaging millions on Youtube, Denison’s marketing team secured our spot as a marketing trailblazer. We consistently show up in Google’s search results for highly trafficked keywords. With 15 million page views and 2 million unique users to date, our online strategies have proven effective, allowing our listings to be seen more often.

Denison’s Youtube channel continued to grow, w/ walkthrough videos ranking high in all searches, making our videos not only well-produced but highly viewed.

9. Charter Fleet Grew Over 50%

Denison’s charter fleet grew in size, making 2019 the most successful year for charter ever. A fan favorite, EXCELLENCE, a 150 Richmond, won multiple awards at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. The first award was a win for Danny Davies, who took home 1st place in the Yacht Chef competition. In addition, her interior team won Best Overall Yacht for Table Top competition.

When EXCELLENCE isn’t winning awards, you can find her chartering the the Bahamas or New England. For a look at all locations, Denison offers charter trips to, see our Charter Destinations page.
