Heesen is delighted to announce the delivery of Arkadia, previously known as Project Triton, YN 18850. She is the first of five yachts scheduled for delivery in 2021 by the Dutch shipyard.
The yacht was sold in October 2020 by David Johnson of Denison Yachting, who introduced the client and worked closely with Thom Conboy of Heesen USA, and the sales team at the shipyard in Oss to seal the deal.

“We look forward to seeing Arkadia join her sister ship Omaha on our side of the ocean”, says Thom. “American customers appreciate the quality of a Dutch pedigree yacht, and the Heesen fleet is growing in North America and the Bahamas.”

David Johnson from Denison Yachting represented the new owners. “I would like to thank Heesen for their support and coordination in making this project happen. The yard worked tirelessly to ensure the yacht is ready for the owners and their family to enjoy cruising this summer. A special thanks also to the owners’ team on board who have been an integral part of the success of this project. This is the most recent new construction sale for Denison Yachting, and we are excited to continue working closely with Heesen to facilitate the sale of future new builds.”

A go-anywhere, luxury superyacht

Arkadia is the second yacht in Heesen’s 50-meter steel displacement class, whose exterior lines by Clifford Denn combine a purposeful, muscular profile with the elegance of Dutch superyacht design. Her luxurious interior is by Reymond Langton.

A true bluewater motor yacht, Arkadia’s full-displacement, round-bilge hull design, with its drag-cheating bulbous bow, promises superlative cruising comfort and seakeeping. Her top speed is 15 knots, and she has a transoceanic range of 3,800 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 13 knots. Perfectly balanced rudders ensure excellent close-quarters maneuverability, and at just under the 500 Gross Ton threshold, she is also remarkably spacious for her length.

Every area of the yacht has been conceived to deliver the best possible experience for everyone on board. Ten guests can be accommodated in five luxurious suites, while her generous deck spaces will also ensure maximum enjoyment of the great outdoors, from alfresco dining to relaxing in the sun or getting close to the water in her lavish beach club. Arkadia is a beautiful addition to the fast-growing Heesen fleet and is sure to turn heads wherever she goes.

Yacht delivery in a pandemic

Delivering a superyacht during a pandemic is not a straightforward task. When the first Covid19 safety measures were announced, Heesen appointed a dedicated team to manage the handover from the shipyard to the owner and his staff.

With travel and meetings disrupted by the pandemic, this service has proved itself invaluable. The Heesen team is focused on assisting and advising the yacht’s management company and her crew in dealing with all the regulatory and certifying authorities. The handover team also includes commissioning engineers, shipyard captains, and dedicated interior experts who work closely with the yacht’s crew.

Making this transfer of knowledge as seamless as possible ensures the smooth operation of the yacht, ready for the owner and his guests to step aboard.
