Following our Hurricane Melissa relief fundraiser and donation drive, the Denison Yachting team took the next step on December 16 by volunteering in person with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) at their headquarters in Doral, Florida.
“I’m grateful for the 12 Denison Yachting team members who joined on December 16th at GEM. Together, we prepared food for 1,400 families, a huge impact in just a few hours of our time. Denison Yachting showed true team spirit, stepping up and joining together for a cause.” – Lisa Jouris, Yacht Manager
At GEM, our team worked side by side to help prepare food support for families impacted by Hurricane Melissa. From assembling and packing to organizing and staging, every task helped move aid forward quickly and efficiently, which is exactly what matters in the weeks and months after a major storm.
“The biggest takeaway wasn’t just the aid we provided, but the connections we built. Many employees expressed a desire to keep volunteering in their communities and potentially with GEM again,” said Jouris.
About Global Empowerment Mission (GEM): Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that responds to crises by delivering essential resources to affected communities. Their Hurricane Melissa mission is supporting Jamaica with large-scale aid deliveries and ongoing recovery efforts.
