The Great Lakes

The Great Lakes and their connecting channels form the largest fresh surface water system on earth.  There are thousands of miles of coastline between Canada and the United States along the shores of the five Great Lakes, from Duluth, Minnesota, on Lake Superior, to the Thousand Islands at the eastern end of Lake Ontario at the entrance of the St. Lawrence Seaway. The lakes are interconnected, at gradually reduced elevations. There are almost 35,000 islands in the Great Lakes.  Itineraries will include passing through areas of magnificent, lonely wilderness, sophisticated urbanity and Midwestern charm.
