True North Yachts, of Warren Rhode Island, introduced their new flagship, the True North 50; the newest 50′ power yacht to be added to the 2014 product line. The True North line currently consists of 34′ and 38′ model yachts.
In coordination with Langan Design Partners, True North Yachts designed the TN50 to revolutionize their line by making the appearance more contemporary, focusing on the enjoyment of being outdoors, ease of ownership, safety, and comfort at sea. This spacious TN50 will host a variety of features and customized options for the owner, but will maintain the stability and classic True North style with a more contemporary appearance, foreshadowing future models.
“We are very excited about the addition of the True North 50. Our new flagship will complement our existing line of classic True North Yachts beautifully. This model will provide our True North owners with an exciting next step in their waterborne adventures as well as open up opportunity for others looking to own a stunning and reliable yacht in the 50′ range.” – Gregg Weatherby, V.P. Sales & Marketing of True North Yachts.
This new model is a fresh look at power yachting and is technologically sophisticated. Regarding safety, the new TN50 boasts single-handed maneuverability, stability, and excellent visibility. With accessible side hull doors, and an opening door at the helm, one person can operate this yacht with ease. The twin Volvo Penta IPS600 engines make for clean, simple docking, allowing on-point maneuverability. The TN50 hull is crafted after a lobster boat design, which has been solidly founded and proven seaworthy in its shape. The result is an exceptionally stable cockpit and wide decks that allow for easy movement.
The modern design of the True North 50 is visible throughout every aspect and every feature, enhancing the ability to entertain and enjoy the outdoors. The wide reverse transom interludes to a spacious cockpit suitable for dining, complete with modular seats, dining table and trimmed in elegant hand-finished teak. There is certainly no lack of space to grill on the outdoor barbeque. The cockpit has abundant storage: hidden lockers for lines, fenders, scuba equipment, or any gear your adventure requires.
The main deck galley keeps the host in the middle of the action. The helm is an outstanding layout featuring Volvo Penta’s glass cockpit by Garmin. There is plenty of room below deck as well as above. The TN50 has a two cabin / two head layout. The forward master stateroom allows for plenty of space to relax, and is accompanied by a private en suite head with a separate shower and dressing table. The centerline queen berth is accessible from three sides. The wooden interior emanates a cozy feel, but still sustains the comforting light and airy feel of the coastal lifestyle.
This advanced design provides plenty of space and storage to ensure that this yacht is safe, stable and easy to entertain on, while highlighting the element of fun for which True North is known. Aboard, the TN50 hosts a retractable swim ladder, so guests may help themselves out of the water easily and forward sun-pads rest on the roomy bow for leisure time. Stand up paddle boards and kayaks are easily stored on the top of the pilothouse. In addition to the numerous standard features, the factory options allow customization to be tailored to the owners’ requests.
True North 50 Hull #1 is currently under construction and will be available for 2014, and might be seen at some late 2013 boat shows.
