ANTIGUA TO ST. MARTIN
Antigua
Day 1
Embark at the Antigua Yacht Club in Falmouth Harbor. Antigua is the largest of the Leeward Islands
and was named by Christopher Columbus after a church in Spain, Santa Maria La Antigua (St. Mary the
Ancient). Antigua is ringed with bays, beautiful reefs and a new beach for each day of the year. She
is steeped in history with colonial sites including Shirley Heights, a rambling array of gun
emplacements and military buildings, which offer breathtaking views over the English Harbour.
Note: When travelling the Leeward Islands on your yacht charter, Antigua is definitely not a
destination to be missed!
Barbuda
Day 2
Head from Falmouth Harbor to Green Island or Nonsuch Bay and anchor for the night. Green Island is an uninhabited island and offers a wide variety of pristine white sand secluded beaches to discover. Nonsuch Bay with her sheltered waters, offer an ideal location for snorkelling. If you prefer an evening on land you try Harmony Hall, a striking former sugar mill estate that now operates as a restaurant, guesthouse and gallery.
Nevis
Day 3
Set course to Barbuda, an island dedicated to nature. She is one of those very few islands in the Caribbean that remains-and probably will remain for some time-so undeveloped as to seem positively deserted at times. The population seems largely to consist of the graceful Fregata magnificens, or frigate bird. As the birds possess a marked preference for the northwest lagoon, Barbuda's seemingly endless white and pink sand beaches are left to the peaceful wanderings of those lucky enough to sojourn here. The surrounding waters are abundant with living coral reefs and ancient shipwrecks making them for fantastic snorkeling. The island also has a number of exclusive resorts where visitors can enjoy a game of tennis or golf. Just To the north of Barbuda you will find the Frigate Bird Sanctuary, home to 170 different species and over five thousand frigate birds.
Kitts
Day 4
Get underway early for the islands of Nevis and St Kitts, the next destination on your Leeward Islands yacht charter. These are like no other islands in the Caribbean and seem to embody a kind of lush tropical paradise usually associated with the South Pacific. The atmosphere here is palpably luxuriant, an intoxicating blend of sunlight, sea air and fantastically abundant vegetation. At the center of St. Kitts stands the spectacular, cloud-fringed peak of Mount Liamuiga, a dormant volcano covered by dense tropical forest. And on Nevis, too, the ground rises upward into a cloud forest filled with elusive green vervet monkeys and brilliant tropical flowers. Perhaps a round of golf at the beautiful Nevis Four Seasons is on the agenda.
Gustavia
Day 5
Today it's off to St. Barths. Enjoy a shopping spree at Hermes, Gucci, or Louis Vuitton. Amongst the islands celebrated resorts, Anse des Flamands offers a lovely beach and a superb restaurant for lunch ashore and horseback riding is also available. St Barts is also a great location for scuba diving and snorkelling and amongst the bountiful marine-life you can spot nurse sharks, lobsters and conch.
Anguilla
Day 6
Head to Anguilla, the northernmost of the Leeward Islands. Long, narrow, and it seems to have been created millions of years before the rest of the chain and worn down over time. Antigua has some of the most beautiful pristine white sand beaches and the shallows offshore, keep the turquoise, blue-green waters un-matched in the Caribbean. Anchor in Crocus Bay for the night and during the day visit the Prickley Pear Cays, a pair of uninhabited islands that are abundant in marine and bird life and are also a popular location for scuba diving.
Martin
Day 7
Next on your Leeward Islands yacht charter, cruise to Orient Bay, St Maarten today and arrive for some more shopping. On the last evening enjoy a sunset stroll and take in one of the many restaurants offering panoramic views of the bay.
