My family and I first met with Erik Mayol when we walked into the Denison Newport Beach office asking about a diesel-powered boat between 40 and 50 feet long. Erik told us about a Sabre 48 SE that was located at the Long Beach marina. Having grown up in Newport Beach, and always having had boats, I had learned to be cautious when dealing with new yacht brokers. Erik was different from other brokers. What impressed us about him was the time he spent with the family making sure that the Sabre fit our needs and was not just trying to make a sale. Throughout the entire process, including after the purchase, Erik has been there for us. This included helping to get marine and engine surveyors, yard haulers, and electronics specialists who helped upgrade the boat’s navigation equipment. I wanted to pass along a note on how much we enjoyed working with our yacht broker, Russ Schafer, on the purchase of our Hatteras yacht.

Russ went overboard on getting us pictures and videos and dealing with the selling broker to get the boat below our price point. Russ helped us get the surveys set up, the marina for haul out, and accommodated us on the day of the surveys and sea trial.
