Spencer Markatos

Several years ago, I embarked on researching and purchasing a sport-fishing yacht for use in South Florida and the Bahamas. Not only did I want this craft for blue water fishing, but I also wanted to be able to take my family cruising, snorkeling, and make the trip back and forth from Jupiter to our place at Ocean Reef. This was my first boat purchase so I needed a lot of help. I was put in touch with Spencer Markatos who led me through the complete process step by step. Because I was limited to flying down from Philadelphia to view boats, I put a lot of scheduling stress on Spencer, but he worked with my schedule. After we had selected the boat, he helped me with additional local professionals for paint, electronics, customization and tower work. He made sure things were getting done when I was 1500 miles away. I had a great experience working with Spencer, and I intend to work with him again to trade up to my next boat.

I looked for a boat for a number of years. I attended boat shows and called on ads, but never found the right match. I met Spencer Markatos at a boat show and with "the time and the salesman" being the right mix, I purchased my 68' Viking from him. Not knowing what to expect since I was new to the process, Spencer made it hassle free as well as enjoyable. Two years later, I sold my 68' Viking and bought a larger Viking from Spencer. As before, I received the same great service from Spencer and appreciated his total involvement in the process. To this day, Spencer keeps in touch on a regular basis to make sure all is well. I always imagined that boating would be a great experience and Spencer has helped to make that a reality for me!

About twelve years ago while we were at the Miami Boat Show, we had the fortunate opportunity to meet Spencer Markatos. We ended up talking with Spencer for quite a long time as we found we had many common interests and just liked each other. Spencer is quite knowledgeable about boats and we are also avid boaters. Each year, we continued to keep in touch with Spencer and very often had dinner together when we were in the same area. One day, someone walked by our boat and expressed interest in buying it. We agreed and sold it. Once it was gone, we contacted Spencer with our interests in purchasing a new boat and provided him with the parameters of our request. Spencer provided us with specific boats and locations to go look at. We decided to put an offer on one and Spencer not only put the deal together but walked us through the purchase from start to finish including meeting us in Long Island for the Sea Trial. The complete transaction went through flawlessly. The service Spencer provided to us was exceptional. He helped us with dealer modifications soon after the sale, and is still available to help us with anything even though this is the seventh year of owning this boat. Today, we still keep in touch with Spencer and try to get together whenever possible. Spencer is a great guy who knows his products and cares about his customers.

I thought buying a yacht from 1,000 miles away was going to be a painful process. Spencer Markatos made the experience as smooth as possible. Getting requested info in a timely manner, scheduling the survey with the most qualified team and working the deal for my benefit, he was kind enough to chauffeur me and the crew all over to provision the boat for our trip. He truly made a normally difficult process as smooth as possible and for that I am very thankful. He is a genuine professional.
