Innovative interior design solutions with a fuel-efficient, outboard-powered cruiser.

This Jeanneau Merry Fisher 855 / NC 895 Offshore is a great pocket cruiser. With two separate cabins, this boat ranks in the category of being a true cruiser opening up many possibilities for couples. The cockpit is great for entertaining or fishing and the twin 200HP Yamaha F200s make getting home a breeze. It is a great boat for a young family, with easy access to the bow and sunpad via a wider sidedeck to starboard. There is an opening side door next to the helm, to make docking very easy for a single person.

Inside, there is a true twin cabin layout; the island master bed is easy to make and a bathroom with shower, and toilet. In the salon, there is a mini galley to port, and to starboard, a booth-style seating that can convert into two forward-facing benches. There are two overhead opening hatches that let in plenty of air, as well as air conditioning (which can do heating) throughout.

  • 2 Cabins, with convertible berth. Sleeps 5. Head with Shower.

Exterior Description And Features

Asymmetrical Deck Layout:

Jeanneau went with an offset wheelhouse for the Merry Fisher 855 and as such the starboard side deck is wider than the portside. This again plays into the sliding side door next to the starboard side helm. However, the port side deck is still easy to negotiate thanks to the abundance of handrails and the side rail that extends well back to the cockpit.

Cockpit:

The cockpit is down two steps from the side decks and presents a wide open space. An opening gate to the starboard side leads to the swim platform.

  • Movable Rear Bench Seat - The cockpit bench seat is mounted to a rail allowing it to slide forward creating room for the engines to be fully raised when beaching the boat or taking her out of service. With the outboards down the seat slides back providing more deck space.
  • U-Shaped Seating - Can be converted to a sunpad
  • Cockpit Table - The plastic, all-weather table can flip open, and is supported by a single leg that slides into a floor fitting. The whole table can easily be removed.
  • Extended Sunshade - Sunbrella, beige

Bow:

The bow is accessed by either of the side decks, with the starboard of course being easier to negotiate as it is wider than the portside deck. The bow features a split rail forward easing the chore of working the ground tackle as well as facilitating bow-in mooring. A large anchor locker makes managing any tangles easy whether the optional windlass is chosen or not. Just behind is an open deck that will accommodate a sun pad and also has a hatch leading to the forward cabin.

Dual Opening Skylights:

While the benefits of the hardtop are obvious, this design also incorporates two opening smoked skylights. They let daylight in while still providing protection, and when desired allow sunlight and fresh air in. This design also aids in visibility from the helm when making turns to port. The skylight drops down into view of the turn adding to the safety factor.

Sliding Side Door:

A door just to starboard of the helm allows quick access to the side decks making single-handed operations a simple affair. A large cleat is just forward of this door, and if it were relocated to a position adjacent to the door it would make single-handed tie-ups even easier.

Interior Description And Features

Interior Overview:

There is a pocket door that leads into the forward berth as well as a hinging door that opens into the aft cabin. With two opening side windows and two opening sunroof hatches, ventilation will be the least of the concerns. Natural light is also a non-issue with nearly 360-degrees of visibility. For that reason, should any guest be sleeping on the main deck, optional wraparound canvas closes off all of the glass for privacy.

  • Air Conditioning - A/C unit with controls at the booth seating. Outlets in salon and forward cabin. Can do cooling, heating, and dehumidifying.

Salon/Dining Area:

To the port side is booth seating that offers a surprising amount of flexibility and really adds to the cruise-ability of the Merry Fisher 855. In the dining configuration two couples will be sitting across from each other with the table in the middle. In cruise configuration, the front seat reverses and becomes forward facing seating.

  • Air Conditioning control - Controls at the booth seating.
  • Booth Seating - In grey fabric. The forward seat is also reversible allowing it to convert to a forward facing bench seat.
  • Wood Table - Hinged, opens up twice as wide. Has louvered edges to keep items from sliding off. The table drops down to form a berth creating room for a single person to spend the night onboard.
  • Blackout Shades - Black outshades for all around the salon, beige on the inside and white outside.
  • Overhead Hatches - Two large opening hatches that slide back let plenty of air and natural lights. Has sun shade and bug screen.
  • Opening window - Port side large opening window.
  • Opening door - Starboard side opening door, and aft sliding door can open double wide.
  • Lighting - Three overhead LED Lights.

Galley:

The galley is over to the starboard side just behind the helm. When not in use, there is a flip down wood lid covering the stove and sink.

  • Cooktop - Single Burner Propane cooktop
  • Stainless Steel Sink
  • Refrigerator - with freezer compartment
  • Storage - 3-Bottle storage, and large cabinet underneath the stove and sink.

Helm:

Jeanneau accommodates sitting at the helm with the comfortable bucket seat and a flip-down foot rest. Flip up the foot rest and standing at the helm becomes equally comfortable. It is also equally comfortable to be sitting with one foot resting on the sill of the open side door and enjoying the unobstructed view of the water passing by.

  • Garmin GPSmap XSV Chartplotter - 12 Inch display, shows charts, Depthsounder, GPS Speed, Radar, Tides, nearby fuel and marinas, etc.
  • Garmin Radar (Added Spring 2021)
  • Engines Computer - Shows RPM, Speed, Engine Temp, Oil Temp, Water Temp, Pressure, Fuel Burn, Alarms
  • VHF - Lowrance Link8
