Description

Clothilde is the most extensively equipped and updated Krogen 42 on the water today. She is the widebody model with center queen master stateroom. The owner has completed many recent upgrades including new electronics (2018), satellite weather (2018), satellite radio (2015), satellite TV (2018), stern thruster (2016), new galvanic isolator (2018) and grounding plate (2018).

Clothilde has been professionally maintained and is fully sound and equipped for self-sufficient long range cruising. Her components are top of the line and her condition is excellent. She has cruised the Pacific Northwest, the San Juan Islands, the East Coast ICW and Long Island Sound.

 

CONSTRUCTION:

Solid hand laid PPG combo mat fiberglass below the waterline. Closed cell PVC sandwich core used in topside and superstructure. End grain balsa cored pilothouse top and boat deck. Vinylester resin used in first two laminates below the waterline. Exterior finish US made FerroA gel coat. 3M 5200 sealant used at hull to deck and boat deck joints. Marine grade plywood bulkheads with mahogany stringers and frames.

 

SALOON:

The saloon is accessed through the double doors from the aft deck. There is a rare second aft window on the starboard side aft bulkhead that allows for great views and abundant natural light. There is custom cabinetry, an L-shaped settee/dinette with storage under and behind complemented by a folding dining table, large opening windows port and starboard, teak valances and day/night duette shades on all windows. The port side saloon also has a large settee with storage under and behind. All upholstery new in 2008.  As a widebody the saloon is very spacious and open. There is also a Phanton rollout screen for the double doors. The saloon and galley are service by a dedicated 16.000 BTU air conditioning syatem (2012). There is a custom carpet w/yard cover, and brass swing arm wall lights There is a 20” swing arm flat screen TV (satellite) and a DVD player. There is custom storage shelving behind the TV panel. There is also Sirius satellite radio/ipod which services the saloon, pilot house, aft deck and flybridge with individual volume control. Port and starboard side windows have external Phifertex snap on screens. All windows and portholes on the boat have been coated with 95% reflective UV coating to reduce heat load and protect against fading.

 

GALLEY

Located forward of the saloon on the starboard side. The u-shaped galley is large with ample storage. The counters are done in a custom Corian with inlaid edge. Other components include:

MASTER STATEROOM

The master stateroom is located forward and features an island queen berth, 2 hanging lockers, generous drawer storage, overhead hatch, SS opening ports (4) w/screens and vanity. The mattress is a top of the line custom mattress from Handcraft Mattress Company. There is a custom storage locker at the head of the bed. The master and guest staterooms are served by a dedicated 12,000 BTU air conditioning system (2008) and golden rod heaters in the starboard closet for humidity/ condensation control in cooler climates. There is also a 15” satellite TV with integral DVD player.

 

GUEST STATEROOM

The den/guest stateroom is located aft of the master stateroom on the starboard side. There is an L-shaped settee, a Pullman berth, desk, book shelves, drawer storage and a hanging locker. Upholstry new in 2008.

 

HEAD

The head is opposite the guest stateroom and contains a large stall shower with an opening port and exhaust fan, Corian basin with brass fixtures, an additional opening port and custom shelving in the upper storage cabinet.  There is also a “Pick-a-watt” electric heater installed for those chilly nights. Exhaust fan and AC/heater vent in the shower. There is a Vacuflush toilet,system and a Tankwatch to monitor the holding tank. There is also a direct overboard head valve and Gusher 30 manual pump for holding tank overboard discharge when offshore.

 

PILOTHOUSE

The pilot house includes a convertible settee (sleeps 2), Dutch doors (refinished in 2018) with dogs, custom roll down snap door screens port and starboard and 2 opening ports aft. There are Phifertex window coverings for the pilothouse windows as well as 95% UV coatings to reduce heat load and keep the pilothouse cool. There is also a solid Sunbrella wrap around cover for the pilot house windows for privacy as well as use as a winter cover. The pilothouse is served by a dedicated 16,000 BTU air conditioning system (2008). Upholstery new in 2008. The dash is custom Corian with inlays.
