Gallant Boat | 40' Concordia 1966

Gallant was built in 1966 by the Concordia Company of South Dartmouth, MA. Currently owned by a life-long traditional sailor, for the past ten years he has stored her inside a boat shed and performed an extensive restoration, which is described in the following specifications. Designed by R. D. "Pete" Culler to replicate a pilot schooner with a clipper bow, round bilge, full keel with attached rudder, and external iron ballast having a transom stern. Gallant is a very attractive tops'l gaff-rigged schooner sailing with stability and comfort.

2025 Update On Work

All seacocks have been removed, serviced, and re-installed

Approximately 30 hours on a major overhaul of the Westerbeke engine

The owner emptied the fuel in both tanks and polished the inside of the tanks before adding fresh fuel.

All blocks were serviced in 2024

All new boat cushions, interior and exterior

In the hull three planks were removed and replaced.

A repair and update to a scarf joint was made to the bottom section of the main mast.

"Over the past ten years this vessel has had some major work. She has been in her boat shop during that time where she had some plank replacement: the bottom was fully stripped, re-caulked, refastened, and painted. The decks were reefed and re-caulked, and the bulwarks were replaced along with the timber heads. During this time the chainplates were replaced and the wire rigging was replaced along with the running rigging." Paul Haley, 2022 of Capt. G.W. Full & Associates
