OVERVIEW
The 72 Motor Yacht from Hatteras Yachts features traditional exterior lines with subtle contemporary styling cues for an overall effect that fits into today's marketplace while easily standing the test of time. This unique model features a wider salon than comparable motor yachts on the market, yet it still retains side-deck access that makes the 72 Motor Yacht perfect for the owner/operator. Down below, the 72 boasts a full-beam master stateroom with a his-and-hers head option, along with two luxurious guest rooms - a third one available as an option. A clever aft compartment can be equipped as either a crew area or as a fourth guest room, creating a truly unique vessel in its size range. The 72 Motor Yacht features a resin-infused hull, rather than one built up of layers of hand-laid fiberglass. The automated resin-infusion process produces a more uniform hull thickness from one hull to the next, as well as the most ideal glass-to-resin ratio. This one-two punch produces a boat that weighs significantly less because of the lowered resin content, while providing a more precise fit of bulkheads, stringers and other components for increased strength and durability. In the salon, a large settee with chaise lounge offers storage and seating, along with a comfortable view of the 42-inch plasma TV, which is perfectly angled toward the sofa. A formal dining table to port seats six comfortably. One step up to the galley, a full walk-in pantry to port provides ample storage for supplies. Part of this space can be modified to incorporate an optional day head on the main level. Forward of the galley, you will find a large, country kitchen-style dinette with stone countertop for casual dining. For easy access to and from the boat, the Hatteras 72 Motor Yacht provides port and starboard access doors on either side of the galley. An optional helm with a single pedestal chair is available for those that require a lower helm station.
WALKTHROUGH
Beginning aft on the swim platform, port and starboard stairs lead up to the teak aft deck, which features a molded-in cushioned settee and large teak high gloss table. To port is a stairway leading up to the flybridge and boat deck. Wide, full walk-around side decks with bulwarks lead to the bow.
The salon is entered through a stainless steel framed sliding glass door. Flooring on the interior main deck is carpet with 2 custom carpet runners. Immediately to port is a granite top table height tiered wet bar with two bar chairs. Behind the bar the custom black granite tile floor of the bar is sunken twelve inches. Behind the bar outboard are custom storage cabinets for glass and bottle storage. Directly below the bar inboard is additional storage and a Scottsman Ice Machine. A door inside and aft of the bar leads to a stairwell down to the Fifth guest or captain / crew stateroom and the engine room. A TV is mounted above the bar for visibility throughout the salon. On the starboard side of the salon is a swivel barrel chair and full size sofa with ample storage underneath. The engine room and aft guest / captains / crew stateroom are accessed from the transom or the salon behind the bar.
Hatteras Yachts are built with solid fiberglass below the waterline and a closed cell foam core above utilizing resin-infusion which provides a more uniform hull thickness and an ideal resin to glass ratio. There is no organic material used in the structure of their yachts which is one of the reasons Hatteras Yachts are noted for their longevity, ease of maintenance and resale. Unlike most of the competition, Hatteras applies a painted finish in Alexseal Cloud White to their hull and topsides. Although this is a more expensive way of building, the finish is far superior to gelcoat and will hold its gloss for a much longer period of time with less maintenance.
The flybridge is accessed from either the aft deck or from the galley. It features a large centerline helm station with 4 large displays, forward, served by 3 platinum Pompanette chairs on stainless steel pedestals with fold down foot rests. A wet bar with three stools is behind the helm. Molded fiberglass seating, port and starboard aft includes lots of storage beneath. A custom Pipewelders marine hardtop with SeaCrylic panels. Custom dropdown TV above bar.
The aft boat deck includes lots of storage in cabinets and a Gaggenau double barbecue grill with molded, hinged cover. 1500 lb. Steelhead hydraulic davit. Currently the boat deck is setup to carry 2 tenders and a liferaft. Both tender mounts are removable.
The aft stateroom is accessible from the salon or transom door. With all of the amenities of the forward staterooms it is perfectly suited for guests, captain and or crew.
The engine room on the Hatteras 72 Motor Yacht is unmatched by any yacht in this size range, a theme that rings true throughout the whole boat. A true walk in engine room with lots of headroom. Showcasing the engineering Hatteras is famous for, this area will be the envy of almost every owner and captain. Miss Sealaneous Expense II’s engine room is immaculate and extremely well maintained. Well lit with abundant room to actually walk around the big CATs, the electrical and plumbing runs are like artwork, everything is clearly labeled and easy to service. All wiring and plumbing zip tied and clamped to a specific measurement as on all Hatteras yachts.
