Sundog is the popular Beneteau 473 in the two stateroom version with an easy-to-use roller furler mainsail and Genoa which won Boat of the Year when it was released! Very comfortable, 2 cabin/2 head version with the large aft storage accessible from the cockpit or from inside. The bottom paint was just completed, so you are ready to go. These are great liveaboards or outfit this one to cruise the islands and beyond… This one is the light wood version and has new upholstery, new flexi-teak in the cockpit, an electric winch on the cabin top and is ready to go for years to come. It includes the Dinghy and Honda 9.9 outboard (both new 2021).

A ”Sundog” or parhelion, also called a mock sun, is caused by the refraction of sunlight and usually appear as two spots on either side of the sun at the horizon. Ancient mariners thought sun dogs indicated rain, wind or a coming storm—either way this Sundog is ready to play. ’

The Beneteau 473 combines extraordinary interior comfort, volume and light with bluewater strength.

The main saloon features a U shaped dining area with side settee. The central bench seat offers great storage and acts as an ottoman for those sitting in the settee. Lovely cabinetry adorns the saloon, while the hull in paneled in wood like the floorboards.

All of this area is kept warm and dry by an Webasto Diesel Furnace System

Cockpit

This cockpit is the envy of the sailboat community. No matter what your preference may be, it is hard to argue with this big open cockpit that can accomodate so many people. We have had dinners for 12 people in one of these cockpits.

It starts as a sailor's cockpit with two steering stations and easy access to the genoa winches and the coachroof winches. Then it becomes a nappers or reader's dream with long benches and lots of space. All of this is protected by a nice dodger. There is a boom tent to keep you shaded and dry at anchor.
